Aquawest recently completed a comprehensive groundwater irrigation upgrade, integrating a Grundfos borehole submersible pump system into an existing sports field irrigation network.
The project involved the delivery of 6 litres per second via a 160mm poly mainline from the bore to two underground concrete storage tanks, providing a combined 240,000 litres of storage capacity. These tanks were installed beneath a newly constructed car park, maximising land use efficiency.
A secondary Grundfos submersible pump station, installed within the tank, now delivers 20 litres per second through a new 160mm poly mainline to feed the existing irrigation system.
Aquawest provided full design, supply, construction, and commissioning, with the key objective of eliminating reliance on treated town water. The system now uses onsite groundwater to irrigate recreational grounds and playing fields, resulting in significant cost savings and improved sustainability.
This project demonstrates Aquawest’s expertise in large-scale irrigation integration, delivering efficient, long-term water management solutions for councils, schools, and sporting facilities across NSW.
