Aquawest recently commissioned a large-scale reuse water irrigation system at Glenyarra, a property that receives approximately 1.2 megalitres of treated reuse water per day from Wingham beef abattoirs.
Water is stored in holding dams and distributed across the farm through a network of underground mainlines, supporting an efficient and sustainable irrigation system.
To manage this volume, Glenyarra was equipped with two Bauer T42 hard hose irrigators (90mm x 300m) and one Bauer T51 (90mm x 330m). Each irrigator expels up to 11 litres per second at 60 PSI, using around 950,000 litres over a 24-hour cycle. The ability to run all three irrigators simultaneously allows the property to effectively manage dam levels in preparation for rainfall events throughout the year.
Aquawest, alongside a Bauer representative, provided a full training and commissioning session for Glenyarra’s farm staff — ensuring confident and efficient use of the new system.
