Conargo Feedlot
Aquawest was proudly awarded the contract to deliver a complete turnkey water supply system for Australia Food & Agriculture (AFA) at the historic Boonoke Station in Deniliquin — formerly operated by FS Falkiner.
Part of AFA’s 225,000ha property network spanning Coonamble, Hay, and Deniliquin, the Conargo Feedlot was developed to support 5,000 head of cattle and 15,000 sheep. Aquawest designed and implemented a large-scale, high-capacity water infrastructure system, including:
- 800kL/day pump installation on Billabong Creek
- 4km of 150mm rising main
- Feedlot booster pump station with filtration
- Connection to 9 x 275,000L steel water tanks
- Pipelines to 60+ feedlot pens, each with individual stock troughs
- PE drainage system for trough overflow and waste water
- Dust suppression sprinklers in cattle and sheep yard areas
The system was engineered to deliver peak water flow rates of up to 800L per hour, ensuring no delays or wait times at troughs for livestock during high-demand periods.
Aquawest’s role in this feedlot development builds on our long-standing partnership with AFA, having previously supplied over 400km of polyethylene pipelines, along with electric pump stations, tanks, and trough infrastructure across their NSW holdings.
